In two venues, at Palazzo Reale and at the Museo del Novecento, the major retrospective dedicated to Mario Nigro (1917-1992) resumes the various phases of his research. On display more than 140 works created from 1947 until the last painting executed in 1992, works on canvas and paper, and three-dimensional, which define the experiences of the Tuscan artist in the field of Abstractionism. Experiments that explore different aspects of the abstract galaxy, from composition to geometry, from color to sign, collected in eight rooms at Palazzo Reale. The concepts of space and time, horizons and lines, metaphysics and vibrations, "footprints" and "portraits" are defined between grids and dense grids, black and white contrasts and primary color interferences; while in the more informal works the rigid structures dissolve to give way to the gesture and the sign; to the color that fades and dissolves in the soft tones of the "meditations".
