From New York to Milan, and for the first time in Europe, 50 works from the prestigious Thannhauser collection have temporarily left their home in the Guggenheim Museum. An exceptional collection, created by Justin K. Shannhauser (1892-1976) and donated in 1963 to the Guggenheim Museum. A Jewish art dealer, Justin was very young alongside his father in the activity of the gallery opened in Munich and in that of other European locations, promoting avant-garde art and its protagonists. Due to the Nazis he shelters in New York and, left without heirs, decides to donate 75 works from his collection to the New York museum.
