Two events are organized for the Canova Project with 150 works exhibited in the exhibition “Canova and Thorvaldsen. The birth of modern sculpture ". An itinerary organized at the Gallerie d'Italia, where the works, coming from prestigious Italian and international museums, put for the first time in direct comparison the art of the Italian Antonio Canova (1757-1822) and the Danish Bertel Thorvaldsen (1770- 1844). A combination that sees Canova, the most famous and celebrated sculptor of his time, alongside his historical rival. While in the second exhibition, at the GAM - Gallery of Modern Art, 39 works are exhibited, including 24 by Canova and among them 5 unpublished for Italy, which focus on the theme of "ideal heads".
